JON HERR'S PRIORITIES

Economic
Development

Jon will execute a fiscally-conservative approach to create jobs, increase the standard of living, and promote sustainable growth within Sandoval County. This involves a variety of activities, such as attracting new businesses, supporting existing ones, improving infrastructure, and investing in workforce development.

A strong local economy, (especially now when county residents are feeling the effects of inflation because of bad policy from the Biden administration), will have positive ripple effects, such as higher tax revenue for local governments, improved public services, and a higher quality of life for residents.

Infrastructure
Improvements

With increased population and economic activity, there is a need to improve the infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, and water systems to meet the growing demands. Improved infrastructure will enhance the mobility of people and goods, increase access to markets, attract new businesses, and create job opportunities.

Additionally, infrastructure improvements will enhance the quality of life for residents, making the county an attractive place to live, work, and visit. Investing in infrastructure is critical for the long-term economic growth and competitiveness of Sandoval County.

Public
Safety

Crime has spiraled out of control statewide. Although Sandoval County is relatively safe compared to our neighbors in Bernalillo County, the side effects of weak-on-crime policies from the state and other local governments are starting to bleed over to our county.

Jon will fully-fund our Sheriff’s Department, stand with all of our first responders, and fight for state funds to allocate to public safety in Sandoval County.

Broadband
Access

Jon is committed to bridging the digital divide in our county by expanding broadband access to every corner. His plan includes partnering with local providers to bring high-speed internet to rural and underserved areas, implementing innovative solutions like fixed wireless and satellite technology, and investing in infrastructure upgrades to ensure reliable and affordable connectivity for all residents.
